Welcome to my official page. I research and teach at MTEC and reference some of our work below. My research interests center around the following topics.
- Strategy
- Innovation, incl. user innovation / user entrepreneurship
- Free/Libre Open Source Software
- Technical systems management and design
- Art and Management
Current research questions and curiosities. Feel free to suggest thesis topics along these lines. We expect your theoretical curiosity coupled with a drive to test empirically what's going on out there. I'd be happy to help and tutor.
- How can social software be used strategically and successfully in companies?
- What are the conditions for free revealing of knowledge by companies?
- How does the use of new technologies alter workflows and knowledge creation processes?
- What are strategies of user innovation to access new markets?
- Collaborative innovation relies on the mutual exchange of knowledge across organizational boundaries, between firms, users, associations, communities and so on. What is a model of collaborative innovation that helps firms to innovate effectively?
- How can organizations be designed to motivate diverse practitioners given that the material context of work impacts motivation?
- How can companies collaborate effectively with communities of users and consumers outside?
